NES R.O.B. – R.O.B. (Robotic Operating Buddy) is an accessory for the Nintendo Entertainment System. He was used in the Robot series. He was released in July 1985 in Japan as the Famicom Robot and later that year as R.O.B. in North America. He had a short lifespan, with support for only two games, but remains known today for the role he played in getting the Nintendo Entertainment System into retail stores in the United States.
When selecting the color scheme for the Famicom and NES R.O.B.s, the stickers on their base change to reflect their actual counterparts. The decal for the Famicom R.O.B. reads "Family Computer Robot," while the decal for the NES R.O.B. reads Robotic Operating Buddy.
In addition, the amiibo for Roy, Ryu and Famicom Rob will be releasing on March 18 in North America. Retailer information will be coming at a later time. You can see what these three amiibo look like in the image below.
