Summer is almost here and swimming is on our minds, or at least on our children’s minds! Those of you with small ones have probably already started to invest in the large amounts of swim diapers you will need. My children are past that stage, but I still remember the packs of Huggies swim diapers we went through each summer. I came across a post from another mom blog, that said you could wash your disposable swim diapers! Unbelievable, why didn’t I run across this when I was buying swim diapers? Anyways, I know what kind of expense those little diapers can be, so I wanted to pass this information on to you. Click to get to the link on how to wash disposable swim diapers.
Any parent with infants and toddlers should have Huggies swim diapers in their summer swim bag. Being prepared for an impromptu swim beats being unprepared. It is good hygiene to place young children in swim diapers when they are in the water. Bacteria in pools can be dangerous to all of the swimmers. Regular diapers are not capable of keeping waste out of the water. Only specially designed diapers, such as Huggies Little Swimmers, can properly protect leaks. Some states require children to use swim diapers when in public waters. However, it is a good idea to do so whether it is law or not.
Could you imagine if one of the little kids pooped in the pool? Take that stress I mentioned above and multiply it by 1,000,000. Poop in the pool is not only super nasty, it’s dangerous. It can cause people in the pool to contract illnesses. And it’s super nasty. Blech!!! I am SO fortunate that this has not happened to me yet. I always put my non-potty trained kids in Huggies Swimmers swim diapers every time we go to the pool.
